I have been a CMC member:
My current position with the CMC is working as a:
Council Member, Trip Leader, Instructor, Volunteer

The volunteer work I have done for the CMC is as follows:
I'm a past Compass editor, assisted with BMS since 2004, director of BRS since 2012, currently on the Council as member-at-large, and serving as the Web Team Liaision person.
My favorite CMC experience was:
Leading trips on rock and snow; leading mellow hikes; and leading more serious scrambles in the mountains.
I believe CMC's role in our community is:
Provide opportunities for safe travel into the mountains with qualified leaders; offer economical instruction in how to hike, backpack, camp, climb, and ski, which helps prevent future accidents in the mountains; provide opportunities for persons to grow in leadership through leading trips and instructing course; and foster an environment of companionship and support in cultivating all these skills.
I also want to say:
Though the CMC is facing difficulties competing in the social networking environment, I still believe this unique organization provides a valuable social service by offering affordable classes that can teach anyone how to be safe in outdoor recreational activities.
